Cactus Thiemann – the best place to visit in Marrakech for Cacti Lovers
Cactus Thiemann, the largest cacti farm in Africa, is a dream place for all cacti lovers.
This amazing cactus garden cultivate over 150 varieties of cactus which are imported from all over the world, and its largest cactus is 8 meter high, and it is over 80 years old! The Founder Hans Thiemann imported this to Morocco from Europe!
Therefore, it is one of the best places to visit in Marrakech particularly for the cacti lovers!

The garden is open on Weds and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm, entrance fee 60dh for adults.
In the past, the fee was like 150/180dh including the visit of the whole garden. Now, it seems that they lowered the price (which is more reasonable). But there is an area they have blocked for professional shooting. If you need to take professional photos, there is an option for a professional shooting pass which is cost 250dh.
I just came with my friend this time and we did not need any professional photo-shoot, so of course we paid 60dh! And here you go! You see all my photos, I believe they are good enough for us!
Anyway, please check with them their schedule and opening hours/dates before you go or see if any reservation is needed (before pandemic, sometimes they may close for private events)
Tips: it is located around 25 minutes from Marrakech medina. If you drive, It is better to use GPS (WAZE) as it is a bit difficult to find. Otherwise, it is better to call a taxi in advance as not many drivers know how to get there.
I have a local taxi driver’s contact who have been there already. So if you need his contact, please leave a comment or email me.
